CEE CENTRE FOR YOUNG BLACK PROFESSIONALS

In a continuation to make a positive change on the world and to help highlight and support organizations that empower and elevate the Black Community, we are proud to introduce the new organization selected for our Points for Donation initiative, the CEE Centre For Young Black Professionals.

POINTS FOR DONATION

Not familiar with Points for Donation? No problem, here is a quick rundown! Since February of this year, in an effort to continuously celebrate Black History Month and support Black communities, Bio Seaweed Gel introduced a new permanent redeemable reward in the BSG Squad Rewards Program, ‘Points for Donation’. What this means is that anyone enrolled in the BSG Squad Reward Program can use their points (earned from spending on the site) and redeem it for a $5 charitable amount. In addition BSG will give an additional $1 for every donation made at the end of the period.

All proceeds will go to one charity or organization that supports Black Communities per a period of 4 months, and the organization changes quarterly! Last quarter, all proceeds went to Black Women In Motion.

For this PFD period, which started June 16^th, 2021 and ends October 16^th, 2021 we have selected the CEE: Centre For Young Black Professionals as the new PFD Charity.

"The CEE Centre For Young Black Professionals is a Toronto based charity that is dedicated to addressing the economic and social barriers that affect Black youth ages 14 and over who are not in employment, education, or training. Our mission is to create a society and economy in which Black youth achieve financial prosperity and high quality of life for themselves and their families to contribute to the advancement of Canada."

It was an easy decision to choose CEE for our next charity- as a company that is ran primarily by young professionals, we truly support the CEE’s mission to combat economic and social barriers affecting Black youth and their initiatives that aim to improve and support Black youth’s career, education and empowerment. The future is in the hands of the younger generations and we believe there is no better way than to invest for a future of equality and justice for all than to start right here and now through the CEE.

It has been a little over a year since those abhorrent events occurred (and continue to unfortunately do so) and a powerful movement, Black Lives Matter, started & propelled. There is still long way to go, with much more to be done but we want to know what positive changes have you seen in the last year? And what sort of changes do you hope for?
